This position is responsible for managing the accounting staff with functions that include billing, accounts payable, fixed assets, as well as other accounting requirements. The successful person in this position will possess leadership qualities, demonstrate dependability, responsibility, consistency and must be able to resolve problems quickly.


Essential Functions

  • Oversee and manage activities for billing, accounts payable, and fixed assets
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and roll forward schedules
  • Drive the timely management of the month end accounting close and recording of journal entries for areas including, but not limited to revenue, accounts payable, and expenses
  • Weekly compliance check to ensure all data is correct
  • Investigate discrepancies and anomalies in a timely and efficient manner to identity potential issues
  • Assist with annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Assist with development of accounting policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with other GDH departments to ensure accurate data capture within Bullhorn inclusive of all data points relating to billing, invoicing, payroll, and gross margin
  • Work with Accounting, Payroll, Operations, and clients on various financial and data analysis, performance management reporting, and account management projects
  • Evaluation and recommendation of process changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of reporting systems
  • Use of analytics tools including MS Excel, and future additional tools to reliably utilize existing reporting systems
  • Creative and analytical problem-solving skills coupled with the curiosity, and determination to persevere through to a solution or response to out of the box situations
  • Aspiration to achieve full and timely resolution of out of the box situations
  • Additional duties will be assigned which may include assisting with other special projects as needed


Requirements-

  • Experience in corporate accounting functions.
  • Proven history of high level of accuracy when dealing with data entry activities
  • Confidence in evaluating and recommending process changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness will be required

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage staff accountants, accounting analysts, and accounting associates. Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings to provide feedback on job performance and provide suggestions for improvement.


Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Travel

No travel is expected for this position, outside of coming into Tulsa, Office.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with five or more years of experience in corporate accounting or financial reporting position, required
  • 2-3 years Supervisory or Management Experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software packages and capable of performing advanced spreadsheet and database applications
  • Ability to understand overall business operations and perform analytical reviews
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team and with all levels of employees
