Job description

Who We Are Looking For

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a SaaS service to deliver a stable, reliable, and secure hybrid systems environment. You will leverage your strong knowledge of hybrid cloud environments hosted on AWS, Azure, and Co-Lo to support our infrastructure. The person should have a passion to continuously improve services, enhance security and optimize performance. Your role will involve:

What You’ll Be Doing As A Part of Our Team

  • Cloud Engineering and Operations: Strong experience building, implementing and operating infrastructure on cloud (AWS and Azure preferred)
  • Security Operations: Implement and manage security operations, including patching, security vulnerability remediation, group policies, RBAC (Role Based Access Control) and cloud configuration tuning. Collaborate with the Cyber security and compliance teams to ensure the services are secure and compliant with industry and company requirements.
  • Observability: Enhance the systems observability, performance, logging and visibility into system and service health
  • Kubernetes Management: Managing services hosted on containerized Kubernetes environment on Cloud
  • System Administration: Managing Windows and Linux systems and underlying infrastructure of VMware, KVM, Hyper-V hypervisors and Storage, deployed on hybrid multi-cloud environment
  • Problem-Solving: Utilizing excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address and resolve issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrating a passion for continuously improving services, enhancing security, and optimizing performance in a high-demand infrastructure supporting SaaS services.

Additional Details On Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for installation, configuration, support, and lifecycle management of Windows, Active Directory (AD), Directory Domain Services (DNS), and preferably Linux systems across WebPT’s data centers, and cloud locations
  • Participate/drive projects to support business initiatives and team goals.
  • Work towards continuously enhancing the system performance, availability, and security
  • Regularly collaborate with the SysOps and the InfoSec team to understand the newly found risks, plan the fixes and/or mitigation, report on patching progress, and escalate issues and roadblocks.
  • Create and maintain runbooks that outline operational procedures
  • Serve as the escalation point for Windows, AD, and DNS incidents
  • Automate processes and develop performance metrics dashboards.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of patching related incidents and work
  • Work with compliance and cyber security team to participate in audits, provide compliance and/or regulatory reports and data

What You Should Have To Qualify

  • Total 10 plus years of experience as a senior systems engineer with expertise in cloud, Kubernetes, AD, DNS, Windows and their security
  • Over 5 years of robust experience in managing SaaS services on cloud-hosted infrastructure
  • Experience with Kubernetes and or EKS
  • Good understanding of security and related best practices of access management, patch management and backup and recovery, DR and BCP.
  • Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
  • Strong experience in managing and supporting Cloud hosted Windows, Active Directory, and DNS in a hybrid data center is a MUST.
  • Knowledge of storage, Logical Unit Numbers (LUN), fiber channels, and related technology is required
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
  • Superior time management, juggling with priorities and organizational skills

Ideally, You Would Also Have These

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Linux system administration
  • ITIL certification or relevant experience
  • Experience working in a healthcare technology environment.
  • Previous experience in HIPAA or PCI environments helpful
