About the Role:
In this new Mid-Atlantic based remote role, the Business Development Manager will establish new sales in existing and new channels in the Mid-Atlantic region consisting of Maryland, Virginia, South New Jersey, Eastern PA, and Delaware for our plumbing focused Diversified Products’ brand portfolio.
This metric driven sales leader will focus on creating demand at the contractor and end-user level and guide opportunities to our channel partners. Having connections at the plumbing contractor level in the Mid-Atlantic region is required as well as comfort with leading product demos.
Travel will be a key part of this position comprising 50-60% of the role, however a strong compensation package will be provided consisting of base salary, monthly bonus, monthly car allowance, mileage reimbursement and more.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver monthly sales objectives in the Maryland, Virginia, South New Jersey, Eastern PA, and Delaware areas
- Create demand at contractor/end-user level and guide resulting opportunities to channel partners.
- Identify and quantify opportunities/plans to grow sales; generate & follow-up on customer leads.
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to gain early adoption of new products.
- Work with sales team and customers to establish and solidify working relationships that will lead to incremental sales.
- Engage current users to expand awareness, educate, ask for referrals, identify new opportunities, and develop account intelligence.
- Capable of understanding customer pain points, requirements and correlating potential business to value.
- Aptitude to manage numerous requests and time demands concurrently, while achieving sales goals.
- Promotes a strong sense of urgency for reaching goals and key deliverables
- Demonstrates initiative and brings new ideas to the company
- Uses lean six sigma principles to define and shape Key Performance Indicators and performance measurement

Education and Experience Requirements:
- 6+ years’ experience in plumbing/building/construction sales.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing or Engineering and/or comparable Technical School, training or field experience preferred.
- Experience calling on building products or plumbing contractors, builders, and product engineers.
