Job description

Role Summary

Our client is looking for an Accrual Accountant/Bookkeeper who will be responsible for various accounting tasks, such as bookkeeping, financial reporting and analysis, general ledger management, reconciliation, payroll processing, and accrual accounting.

WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Mountain Standard Time (11:00 PM – 8:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

Essential Functions

  • Perform the following accrual accounting tasks:
    • Record revenue and expenses based on the accrual basis of accounting
    • Recognize revenue when earned and expenses when incurred, regardless of cash flow
    • Prepare journal entries to record accruals, deferrals, and other adjustments
  • Perform the following financial reporting tasks:
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues
    • Prepare and submit required financial reports to regulatory authorities
  • Perform the following general ledger maintenance tasks:
    • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness
    • Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
    • Prepare and post journal entries for various transactions, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Perform the following bank reconciliation tasks:
    • Reconcile bank accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies
    • Investigate and resolve any bank account issues or discrepancies
  • Perform the following bookkeeping tasks:
    • Manage accounts receivable and payable, including invoicing, collections, and payments
    • Monitor aging reports to ensure timely collections and payments
    • Prepare sales tax returns and file them timely
    • Stay current with sales tax laws and regulations
    • Research and resolve sales tax issues
    • Support invoicing/project control
  • Perform the following payroll processing tasks:
    • Process payroll accurately and timely, including calculating taxes and deductions
    • Prepare and submit payroll tax returns
  • Perform the following financial analysis tasks:
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management
Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and Microsoft Excel)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
