Ready to build the MLOps infrastructure that powers the next generation of real-time conversational AI avatars?
An innovative AI startup is seeking an MLOps Engineer to lead their GPU infrastructure from 0-1, taking ownership of all MLOps challenges as they scale their breakthrough technology.
They're developing groundbreaking technology in real-time, conversational AI avatars. While current AI avatars are typically slow, scripted, and unable to convey natural emotion, their solution enables real-time personas capable of understanding verbal and non-verbal cues with responses in under 500ms.
Founded by experienced entrepreneurs from a leading AI company, they secured funding earlier this year with a new round soon to be announced. In the short time since launch, they've already gained significant traction, with over 100 paying customers, including globally recognised brands. Their team includes alumni from Twitter, Google, and other tech giants, supported by an industry advisor from a prominent AI company.
In this role, you'll collaborate directly with the CTO and research team to:
- Take full ownership of the MLOps pipeline
- Develop cloud infrastructure enabling researchers to train and experiment
- Establish processes for managing proprietary datasets
- Create and implement long-term infrastructure planning
- Support the Research team with ML infrastructure needs
Requirements:
- Strong background in ML or Backend Engineering (in an ML function)
- Recent hands-on MLOps experience
- Experience with inference and performance optimisation
- Strong coding abilities with a language-agnostic approach
- Pragmatic problem-solving mindset
- Exceptional written and spoken English. As a remote company this is super important.
Nice to have:
- Experience with mixed precision training
- GPU programming expertise
The company is remote first, with quarterly team meetings in London (3 days at a time).
Candidates must be based in European time zones.
Your package includes a base salary of circa £120,000 (with flexibility up to circa £150,000 for exceptional engineers), plus attractive equity as an early hire. Benefits include 27 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and a standard pension, with a bonus structure coming soon.
Career growth opportunities are available for both IC and leadership tracks.
If you're excited about building the infrastructure that will power the future of human-AI interaction, apply today. All applicants will receive a response.
