Reports To: VP of HR

Pay: $90,000 - $110,000

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers exceptional customer service and support for our internal partners.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Facilitates regional HR training for managers and center staff regarding various topics.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Actively promotes and participates in DEI activities at the regional level.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement in processes, training, and procedures-- devises a plan, and implements necessary actions.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with Employee Relations Manager on all cases, providing all necessary documentation timely. 
  • Conduct virtual, monthly New Employee Orientation and ensure required training is completed for all staff.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs

Requirements:

  • Must live in the Central or Eastern time zone
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience as an HRBP (or similar role) for a multi-unit, multi-state organization that has a high population of hourly employees (Retail, Pet Centers, or Hospitality preferred).
  • Heavy employee relations and investigative experience preferred.
  • Must be service-oriented, and personable, but also comfortable holding others accountable and escalating unresolved issues when necessary. 
  • Must have examples of successfully identifying improvement opportunities in an organization and implementing necessary changes.
  • Expert knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including employee      relations, training, performance management, compensation practices, and  organizational diagnosis
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified  Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential, or SPHR or PHR credential, preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to travel 50% +.
  • A willingness to work evenings and weekends, when necessary.
