Job Summary: The Anti-Abuse Analyst will analyze usage reports and abuse trends, identify fraudulent activity, enhance security workflows, and work with teams to mitigate risks. Key duties include data analysis, developing abuse prevention strategies, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to improve user safety.
The Anti-Abuse Analyst will play a critical role in detecting, preventing, and addressing illegal and unauthorized usage of subscription-based accounts. This position involves identifying abuse patterns, setting account limits, and resetting accounts to mitigate fraud or unauthorized access. The role also requires direct communication with legitimate customers and unauthorized users, ensuring account security and resolving issues through re-contracting and upselling initiatives. Additionally, the specialist will monitor online platforms for illegal sales of the company's software, collaborating with relevant companies to remove illegal advertisements and take down infringing listings. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively within a team, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Monitoring & Detection:
Detect and address instances of illegal and unauthorized usage on subscription-based accounts. Implement account limits and resets as necessary to maintain compliance and prevent abuse.
Account Management:
Reset compromised accounts and issue new temporary credentials to ensure customers’ access is restored securely.
Re-contract accounts and promote upselling opportunities where applicable. using our Compliance sales model.
Customer & Unauthorized User Communication:
Communicate effectively with legitimate customers to resolve issues and manage account status. Proactively reach out to legitimate customers and explain the situation regarding the unauthorized use.
Communicate with unauthorized users to inform them of their violation and direct them to cease their access.
Online Monitoring & Reporting:
Conduct regular checks on online marketplaces and forums for illegal sales or distribution of the company's software.
Collect evidence of illegal distribution and report findings to appropriate authorities, and legal teams.
Collaboration & Team Support:
Collaborate with internal teams to identify trends and refine strategies for abuse detection and prevention.
Support the compliance team with ongoing investigations and report escalations.
Documentation & Record Keeping:
Maintain clear and accurate documentation of interactions and resolutions related to account abuse and unauthorized sales.
Ensure all actions are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in account management, compliance, or a similar role, ideally within the software or automotive aftermarket industries.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
Experience using our sales of subscription management or CRM software is a plus.
Working knowledge of the internet and basic IT/account limit setting a plus.
Communication Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and professionally to both customers and unauthorized users.
Experience in conflict resolution and customer service is an advantage.
Analytical Abilities:
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to conduct investigations and analyze data to identify trends in illegal or unauthorized account usage.
Monitor market trends, attend trade shows, and communicate future compliance needs to management.
Legal & Compliance Knowledge:
Understanding of basic internet security practices and compliance regulations in the software industry.
Experience with reporting illegal online activities to authorities is a plus.
