Job description

RTI Health Solutions (RTI-HS), a business unit of RTI International, is an independent and internationally recognized research organization. We provide healthcare consulting and research expertise to optimize decision-making for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device products across the development and marketing life cycle. Clients rely on our expertise, quality standards, and integrity to guide their product development and regulatory and market access strategies. To support our continued growth, we are currently seeking a Head of Business Development to join our Strategic Consulting and Growth group, and lead a team of business development professionals focused on building and strengthening relationships across RTI-HS targeted clients.


To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience building meaningful relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders and the ability to foster trust ensuring long-term collaboration and sustainable growth. fostering trust to ensure long-term collaboration and sustainable growth.


Additionally, you will possess strong management and leadership experience and the ability to effectively guide cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities


Strategic Planning & Leadership:

  • Contribute to business unit strategy, aligning business development, marketing, and communication efforts with financial and technical goals.
  • Develop and implement annual goals, ensuring accountability for meeting key deliverables that support the organization’s mission and objectives.

Market Analysis & Client Engagement:

  • Provide recommendations on positioning RTI-HS to respond proactively to market shifts and new client needs.
  • Lead initiatives to identify new geographic and technical markets, develop strategic partnerships, and expand RTI-HS’s client base.

Organizational Representation & Networking:

  • Actively represent RTI-HS at events, conferences, and industry associations to promote the organization within the international development and research community.
  • Lead business development initiatives with key institutional partners, fostering long-term client relationships and expanding RTI-HS’s influence globally.

Talent Development & Team Leadership:

  • Lead a high-performing team through effective performance management, career development, and succession planning processes.
  • Foster a positive team culture that promotes professional growth, high morale, and retention.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree with 20 years of directly related experience in the healthcare consulting and/or research industries, or
  • Master’s degree with 16 years of directly related experience in the healthcare consulting and/or research industries, or
  • PhD with 12 years of directly related experience in healthcare consulting and/or research industries
  • A demonstrated record of success in business development within the healthcare consulting or life sciences sector.
  • Proven track record in managing and growing business portfolios and securing high-value contracts.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience building and motivating high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of real-world evidence, market access, health economics, or outcomes research is highly preferred
