Job Title: Accounting Consultant – Statutory Reporting Support

Job Description

Jefferson Wells is seeking an experienced Accounting Consultant to provide statutory reporting support for a critical year-end close and refiling project. This opportunity is remote, offering the chance to work with a leading organization tackling complex financial reporting challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Support the refiling of 2023 annual statements, addressing inaccuracies and misstatements.
  • Identify and correct issues, including:
  • Claims reserves that were underreserved.
  • Incorrect assumptions impacting financial reporting.
  • Reinsurance numbers that were improperly reflected.
  • Assist in addressing the impact on 2024 quarterly filings and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reports.
  • Utilize your NAIC expertise to guide the organization through regulatory complexities and requirements.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve processes and reporting accuracy for future filings.


Requirements

  • Proven experience with refiling annual statements and addressing complex financial reporting issues.
  • Expertise in NAIC statutory reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of claims reserves, reinsurance, and related financial reporting processes.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • CPA designation is preferred but not required.
