Application Solutions Consultant

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for an Application Solutions Consultant to help the Transit IT division with application support for their new ICIP project ClearCom (Bus radio and ITS replacement).

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed work plan for SDLC activities to accommodate completion of the work within specified project timeline and budget.

• Participate in the full software engineering lifecycle: requirements, design, source code implementation, unit test, integration, and system test

• Design and develop high quality and scalable software applications and OTA software updates for devices on-board vehicles.

• Collaborate with Solution designer and software developers to ensure the complete solution meets performance and reliability requirements.

• Participate in code reviews to improve quality and compliance.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in software development using C++.

• 5+ years of experience in developing applications using the QT framework, preferably in a Linux-based environment.

• Must have 3+ years of experience developing UI/UX with QML in QT framework (Qt 5 or 6) with C++.

Experience with the following will be an asset:

• Experience with OSM (Open Street maps) or similar based applications

• Experience with MQTT or similar communication protocols

• Experience with TTS (Text-to-speech) applications

• Experience with OTA (Over the air) software and OS update frameworks like Mender or RAUC or similar.

Skills and Depth:

• Solid programming skills with the ability to write structured, readable, and efficient code, and to rapidly prototype, implement, and debug solutions to complex problems.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills to respond to changing priorities and circumstances.

• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
