Job description

Overview:

FedWriters is building a team to develop and monitor Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) program's performance outputs and policy support services, to include updating current policies, initiating new policies to support national, state, and local veterans’ offices, or examining federal policies affecting execution of veterans’ programs and changing policies to include latest Congressional and Executive Order decisions. As a Project Manager, you will manage a team that is responsible for evaluating and analyzing program performance data, research and development of
program policy and processes, and review and update of policy implementation in regional and field offices.

**This is a full time remote position; however the customer may ask for an occasional office visit.**

 

Responsibilities:
  • Provide program management support to program managers and stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain program documentation
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and budgeting
  • Track and report on program progress and performance
  • Manage program risks and issues
  • Coordinate communication and collaboration across teams
  • Provide training and support to program staff
  • Ensure program compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Specific Duties:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project deliverables
      Develop deliverables using project management applications at least two months in advance of anticipated deadlines
    • Identify and manage program dependencies and risks
    • Develop program budget and resource allocation plan
    • Develop communication plans and reporting strategies
    • Monitor and manage program progress against deliverable deadlines
    • Manage staff assignments based on program priorities
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams
    • Identify and resolve issues and roadblocks
    • Manage program budget and resources
    • Track and report on program performance
    • Ensure all project deliverables are completed by the due date and meet quality standards
    • Evaluate project success against objectives
    • Document lessons learned and recommended actions
    • Close out project budget and resources
Qualifications:
  • Ability to undergo and successfully pass a minimum background investigation (MBI) or a background investigation (BI) conducted through the U.S. Department of Labor
  • An active PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent, (certification must be within the past three years from the date of hire)
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management, to include the hiring and onboarding/offboarding of project staff, managing a project budget/invoicing, and complying with the scope, schedule, and deliverables
  • Proficiency in Microsoft enterprise collaboration tools, such as SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
  • Be able to operate in a demanding and evolving environment, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously, while under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Have exceptional record keeping, time management, and organizational skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Be a strong leader, with experience managing personnel issues and holding contractor staff accountable to performance expectations
  • Be committed to the Government mission and instilling that commitment amongst contractor staff
  • Respond quickly to implement direction from the CO, COR, and Federal Project Manager
  • Be capable of coordinating all vital contractual matters (e.g., performance issues, inquiries made on invoices, staff transitions, etc.) in a timely manner without causing disruption to services to the Government

Pay Range (Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors): $ 142,002.73 - $ 152,052.73 /Yr.
