Job description

Who We Are - MANSCAPED® is a leading men’s grooming and lifestyle consumer brand on a mission to introduce and elevate a whole new self-care routine for men. What began as the category creator of below-the-waist grooming has quickly evolved into a global omnichannel powerhouse available around the world on manscaped.com, Amazon, and in major retailers including Target®, Walmart, and Best Buy. As a company, we’re more than just ball jokes (though, rest assured, there’s plenty of those). We proudly uphold seven core values – accountability, authenticity, collaboration, fun, humility, inclusivity, and innovation – which define our brand identity and drive our success. As a people-centric employer brand, we are deeply committed to fostering the growth, happiness, and holistic well-being of each individual on our team.

Who We’re Looking For - Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, we are seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to participate in the day-to-day operations of the Accounting team and the month-end close, including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, analysis of accounting activity, and managing the financial aspects of the retail business.

Keys to Success - As a member of the Accounting team, success will be measured based on three key actions. 1) Doing your job; setting and meeting appropriate goals that ladder up to the long-term Company vision and the short-term Company targets. You are expected to align on these goals with your manager and then deliver on them. 2) Doing Your Job, the Right Way; At MANSCAPED® we strive to be ideal team players. That means striving to live up to the Humble, Hard Working & Smart framework. 3) Engaging (in both directions) with Radical Candor in a way that seeks to improve the performance of yourself and the team around you.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries and monthly account reconciliations related to cash, revenue, accounts receivable, and various other general ledger accounts
  • On-board new retail customers, post retail invoices and reconcile retail payments
  • Maintain and monitor invoice automation workflow with external & internal retail teams
  • Participate in annual audits and special projects
  • Occasionally work with external consultants to provide required information and ensure proper record keeping for historical purposes
  • Directly support the Accounting GL team with the preparation of analysis related to month-end and year-end journal entries and analysis of operating results
  • Participate in Accounting team initiatives to implement systems, increase automation and enhance efficiencies
  • Maintain processes, procedures and internal controls
  • Other duties as required

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 2-3 years of experience working in general accounting
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles under US GAAP, including accrual accounting concepts
  • Must have NetSuite Experience and strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Analytical, data-driven mindset and can apply strategic thinking to problem solving and drive company goals and outcomes
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment and building out systems, tools, and processes from the ground up
