This is a hybrid role, with three in-office days at our Sutton, south-east London office. The starting salary is £30,000 plus company benefits. Remote working applications are also welcome.
What We Offer:
Thinking of taking your agricultural career in a new direction? You could be Farmers Weekly’s next livestock reporter if you have solid practical farming knowledge. Whether you’re a livestock adviser, farm manager, stockperson, or working in a related role, this could be the fresh challenge you’re looking for.
You don’t need to be a trained journalist, we just ask that you bring a passion for agriculture, a good understanding of livestock production, and the drive to support farmers by sharing the latest technical advice and developments in the sector. We’ll teach you the rest.
A typical week might involve interviewing a farmer or nutritionist, recording a podcast clip at a conference, making a video, or developing content ideas with the livestock team. If you’re a natural communicator and networker who thrives on variety, this could be the perfect role for you.
Additionally, you’ll have:
Support to develop your journalism skills, with training and hands-on opportunities to expand your expertise in livestock reporting.
The chance to work across multimedia platforms, from writing and podcasting to video production, in a creative, collaborative environment.
Opportunities to build a professional network with industry-leading farmers, advisors, and innovators.
What We’re Looking For:
A shared belief in our values: passionate, creative, fair, and nurturing.
Solid practical knowledge of farming, particularly livestock production.
A natural communicator and networker with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to write accurate, engaging, and informative content, with an interest in exploring print and digital journalism plus social media.
Strong organisational skills, with the flexibility to manage a varied workload.
A full driving licence is required and the willingness to travel for interviews, events, and fieldwork.
