Job description

Overview:

The Business Analyst will manage the compilation, analysis, and reporting of data for pricing contracts for PBM services and other pharmacy business units. Work cross-functionally with members of Finance, Clinical, Sales/Account Management, and other departments to develop requested reporting, assess impact of client requested changes, and perform ancillary analysis to assist in RFP response. Utilize SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools to aid in quantitative and qualitative analysis, financial modeling, and economic forecasting. Design reports and analyze data which help support a variety of business needs ranging from day to day operations to key business decisions. Work within the Pricing & Underwriting department to create reports and write queries across multiple systems, to interface with and assist multiple business units.

Responsibilities:
  • Create reporting and develop automation for Maxor’s PBM opportunities.
  • Gather, assess and evaluate quantitative elements of a new client and existing client renewal opportunities, working in a team environment with the Pricing/Underwriting Management, Pricing Analysts, Sales/Account Management teams, etc.
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems
  • Ensure that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities.
  • Streamline processes and models to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide financial support for prospect contract negotiations and respond to RFP financial requests.
  • Assist in developing pricing reports for senior leadership.
  • Participate in ad-hoc department and company projects.
  • Create reports and write queries across multiple systems, with an emphasis on automation of reporting analyses including repricing, disruptions, etc. Work to develop and create change of benefit reporting and analysis including formulary alteration, copay/benefit design changes, and pricing implications associated with program changes.
  • Support functional & organizational initiatives as required.
  • Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed.
  • Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department
  • Comply with Maxor’s Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor’s Compliance Program.
  • Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
  • Complete required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes.
Qualifications:

Education:                                            

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Computer Information Systems, or Economics. Or similarly related degree within data science.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience completing complex analytical, financial analysis for PBM services. Minimum of 2 years’ experience using SQL.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  •  Knowledge of pricing inputs and services mix (plan design, prescription history, retail pharmacy network models, rebate assumptions, specialty, mail pharmacy, brand/generic and more) for contracted PBM services across both traditional and pass through pricing methodologies
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with VBA programming preferred
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, database tables, and structures
  • Working knowledge of Business Intelligence/Reporting platforms (such as Crystal Reports, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or SSRS)
  • Extensive experience reviewing, analyzing, and assessing complex and unstructured data
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines
  • Contribute productively and work cohesively with cross-functional teams in operations, sales, account management and finance in fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects, as well as, strong follow through skills

Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
