Position Overview

Aksia is seeking a Director of Valuation to lead the firm’s valuation responsibilities for alternative and illiquid investments held in investment funds and client portfolios, including private credit, private equity, and hedge funds. This position will oversee an international team focused on daily and quarterly valuations, as well as collaborating with Aksia’s global Risk, Research, Advisory and Operations professionals and clients. This role will be within Aksia’s Private Markets Risk team, a group responsible for conducting detailed qualitative and quantitative monitoring on co-investments and funds across Aksia’s client universe invested into private credit, private equity, real estate, and real assets. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, highly self-motivated, and comfortable working in an ever-evolving environment.

This position can be based in Aksia’s New York, Chicago or San Diego offices, or remote in the United States, and will include regular interaction with global colleagues and clients.

 Responsibilities

  •  Responsible for asset valuations quarterly and daily for a portfolio of private credit and private equity investments.
  • Provide valuation insights and reports to Aksia’s valuation committee and portfolio management teams.
  • Designing and operating financial models for discounted cash flow, daily pricing, market multiple, and market transaction analyses
  • Performing valuation analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments broadly distributed across industries and geographies while using accepted and relevant approaches and theory
  • Attending relevant industry events to broaden your knowledge and experience within the alternative asset industry
  • Communications and broader relationship management with existing Aksia clients

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in alternative asset valuation or related field.
  • Strong understanding of Private Credit or Private Equity valuation methodologies and applications.
  • Experience leading an international team considered a plus.
  • Interval fund valuation experience considered a plus.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • Exceptional communication skills through any medium, written or verbal
  • Incredible attention to detail
  • Ability to think critically and drive strategic initiatives
  • Team player with the ability to effectively manage other professionals
  • Strong work ethic, exhibiting a high degree of initiative, commitment, and drive

The estimated base salary range for this position is $155,000 to $190,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Aksia provides a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local cost of labor.
