Job description

Description

We are looking for a skilled Payroll & Accounting Specialist to provide financial, administrative and clerical support to our well-established, mid-sized company in the calibration services and products industry. This is a dynamic and highly regulated industry with excellent growth potential. We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated person to join our accounting team!


This is a full-time, remote position with bi-weekly in-person/teams meetings and training via our Milwaukie, OR office location. Work hours are 8:00am – 4:30pm with more flexibility as experience in the position grows. 


  

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processing a multi-state biweekly payroll in conformance with company policy and Federal and State regulations in Paylocity payroll system.
  • Review employee timecards and records, working with remote and local employees to make corrections and resolve issues.
  • Process employee additions and changes in the payroll system including earnings, deductions and benefit accruals.
  • Prepare and process payroll batch entries for biweekly payroll.
  • Verify and import payroll journal entries to Quickbooks Online.
  • Calculate manual payroll for terminations and special payments.
  • Process and coordinate garnishments as required.
  • Assist with onboarding and maintaining employee information in various systems including benefits portals.
  • Assist HR Manager and corporate office with payroll related issues.
  • Manage and coordinate payroll information for year-end processes.
  • Answer employee and management questions related to time and/or pay.
  • Assist with other accounting and administrative tasks such as transaction logs, updating policies and procedures, processing mail, answering phones and emails.
  • Assist other accounting team members with payables, receivables and special projects as workload allows.
Requirements
  • A  minimum of 3+ years of experience with timekeeping and payroll processing. Multistate payroll processing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of automated payroll and time & attendance systems.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience in MS Office including Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, Outlook and Teams.
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online and/or Netsuite accounting software.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Customer service and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Dedicated remote workspace which may be verified.
  • Background check and pre-employment drug screen required.
Salary Description
$24-$28 per hr
