 Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:

As an Accounting Clerk, you’ll handle invoices, reconcile accounts, and ensure smooth payment processes. With diverse projects and opportunities to improve workflows, this role offers a dynamic and rewarding experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
  • Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, schedules and prepares checks, and resolves invoice or payment discrepancies and documentation.
  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Ensures credits and pre-payments are applied to open invoices.
  • Misc. Projects: Immerse yourself in the various tasks that come up in our day-to-day operations.

Requirements

Must-have Skills / Qualifications:

  • A degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in accounting or a similar role.
  • A professional and positive attitude with a focus on maintaining workplace decorum.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Passion for working with numbers, data analysis, and conducting thorough research.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications

Advantageous:

  • Familiarity with or experience using QuickBooks for accounting purposes.
