What we’re looking for:
The Compensation & Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing and administering compensation programs and payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely payroll disbursements. This role requires a strong understanding of compensation structures, payroll regulations, and data management. The ideal candidate must have experience handling sensitive compensation and payroll information confidentially. This position will be part of the Human Resources team and will work closely with IT and AMC management.
What You’ll Do:
- Enter, maintain, and/or process information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
- Prepare and process semi-monthly/monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.
- Prepare employee communications related to employee payroll and compensation administration.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll and compensation data to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Assist in the development and implementation of compensation programs and policies that align with company goals.
- Assess jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt.
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries and compensation structures.
- Maintain payroll records and reports, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with the HR team to analyze compensation trends and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Responsible for managing company organizational charts.
- Rotate with other members of the HR team to conduct new hire orientations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting compensation and payroll practices.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in payroll processing and compensation management.
- Payroll/HRIS experience required; experience with Paycor HRIS is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Uncompromising ethics and confidentiality required.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments under high pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Strong math and problem-solving skills

Compensation:
The annual salary for this position generally ranges between $60,000 - $90,000.
