The Day to Day as a Mortgage Servicing Coordinator
The Mortgage Servicing Coordinator is responsible for managing key mortgage servicing tasks, including delinquency reporting, coordinating with the Collections Department on mortgage delinquency, managing the mortgage escrow accounts to include disbursement and analysis, and supporting daily operational needs in alignment with internal and external compliance requirements. A typical day will look like:
- Coordinate with the Collections Department to address mortgage delinquency issues, providing solutions to the internal teams and membership. This includes coordinating data and information between the Collections Department and Mortgage Servicing Department to ensure accuracy with reporting and serve as a liaison for delinquent loan modification and work outs, and for portfolio and investor loans.
- Maintain knowledge of secondary market mortgage servicing delinquency requirements to support the Collections Department.
- Work with the Collections Department to manage the maintenance of the mortgage loans on Financial Industry Computer Systems (FICS), to include loan workouts, payment arrangements, completion of modification agreements, ensuring all changes are accurately processed and documented within the system.
- Prepare and manage monthly mortgage delinquency reporting.
- Complete monthly delinquency reporting to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Federal Home Loan Bank, and mortgage insurance companies, along with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
- Monitor the accurate and timely disbursement of real estate taxes utilizing a third-party vendor on escrowed loans.
- Monitor and address delinquency of unpaid real estate taxes utilizing a third-party vendor on non-escrowed loans.
- Monitor the accurate and timely disbursement of hazard insurance utilizing a third-party vendor on escrowed loans. Update hazard insurance within FICS utilizing a third party vendor on non-escrow loans and contacting member for policy details when necessary.
- Balance and remit the monthly disbursement of private mortgage insurance payments, to include member paid and lender paid mortgage insurance.
- Review monthly escrow analysis file for accuracy and submit monthly escrow analysis file to third party vendor.
- Complete daily upload of new loans and review for accuracy to complete full booking on FICS.
- Initiate outgoing wires for escrow disbursements when applicable, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and internal guidelines.
- Respond to internal and external phone and email inquiries concerning mortgage servicing questions, including member service escalations as needed.

To Be Considered, You’ll Need:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in customer facing roles through channels such as phone, email, on-line or in person.
- Personal computer experience to include a Microsoft Office products.
- Minimum two years of work experience in mortgage servicing to include secondary market experience.
Preferred Qualifications That Could Set You Ahead:
- Experience in a mortgage delinquency servicing.
