US Accountant with Xero Accounting Software Experience

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced US Accountant with proficiency in Xero accounting software to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with the ability to set up and manage a chart of accounts, perform general ledger functions, and ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with US accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Chart of Accounts Setup:
  

• Set up and configure the chart of accounts in Xero for various entities, ensuring proper classification of financial data for accurate reporting.
  

• Regularly review and update the chart of accounts to meet business requirements and comply with regulatory standards.
  

• General Accounting & Financial Reporting:
  

• Perform day-to-day accounting duties, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes.
  

• Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports in Xero.
  

• Accounts Payable/Receivable:
  

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, payments, and collections, ensuring timely processing and accurate records in Xero.
  

• Tax Compliance:
  

• Assist with the preparation of tax filings (sales tax, income tax, etc.) and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  

• Reconciliations:
  

• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  

• Internal Controls & Audit Support:
  

• Maintain and enforce internal controls to safeguard financial data.
  

• Assist with external audits and internal reviews, providing requested documentation and explanations as needed.
  

• Reporting & Analysis:
  

• Provide regular financial analysis to management, highlighting key trends and variances.
  

• Generate custom financial reports and dashboards from Xero to support decision-making.
  

• Xero Software Utilization:
  

• Leverage Xero’s features to streamline accounting processes, including automating repetitive tasks and integrating with other business systems.
  

• Stay up-to-date with updates and new features in Xero, ensuring the system is optimized for company needs.
  

Requirements

• Education:
  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  

• Experience:
  

• Minimum of 1 years of accounting experience, with a focus on general accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
  

• Proven experience using Xero accounting software in a professional environment.
  

• Technical Skills:
  

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting (GAAP).
  

• Proficiency with Xero, including chart of accounts setup, general ledger management, and report generation.
  

• Experience with Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools/software.
  

• Skills & Abilities:
  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  

• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
