Junior Data & Machine Learning Engineer

Tenaris, the world's largest producer of seamless steel pipes for the energy industry, harnesses data from its global operations to enhance process quality and efficiency.
Since 2016, the Tenaris Data Science team has been implementing cutting-edge solutions in anomaly detection, computer vision, time series forecasting, optimization, and large language models (LLMs).

We are seeking a Junior Data & Machine Learning Engineer to join our team of ten professionals and grow with us as we tackle exciting challenges in data and AI-driven solutions.

Role Responsibilities
  • Process and prepare data from diverse industrial sources using different tools and technologies (Spark, Pandas, Kafka, NiFi, SQL, digital signal processing etc.)
  • Create interactive data visualizations and web applications, enabling users to explore data and models effectively.
  • Perform multivariate data analysis to discover correlations between process variables and outcomes using modern machine learning techniques.
  • Train and deploy predictive models.
  • Design and implement Generative AI (GenAI) solutions for Natural Language Processing (NLP) projects, including tasks such as text classification, summarization, sentiment analysis, and conversational AI
  • Deploy and integrate solutions with existing industrial systems.
  • Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through visualizations, reports, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with end-users throughout the project lifecycle, both in Italy and in mills across the globe.
Mandatory Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python programming and basic data analysis using Python libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
  • Fundamental knowledge of SQL.
  • Strong desire to learn how to design and develop full-stack data and machine learning solutions.
  • Interest for solving industrial challenges with data-driven approaches.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English.
Considered as a Plus
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Kubernetes.
  • Prior international experience.
  • Proficiency in Spanish.
  • Up to 2 years in analogous roles in other companies
