Our client is shaking up the DeFi game with a lending protocol that's redefining open, efficient, and resilient finance. With over $3 billion in assets supplied and their permissionless protocol, hitting $2 billion in just six months, they're setting a new benchmark in DeFi lending.

The Role

We're looking for a Team Lead for our client's Infrastructure Team to spearhead a critical pillar of engineering organization. In this role, you'll lead a team of 8 engineers to build and maintain resilient, scalable infrastructure, including APIs, data pipelines, and backend systems, supporting one of the fastest-growing DeFi protocols. Working closely with the Head of Engineering, you'll align infrastructure goals with business priorities while mentoring and scaling a high-performing team in a highly technical, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

  • Foster a collaborative team environment, prioritizing collective success over individual achievements.
  • Manage project priorities, address technical debt, and deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions.
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and promote a culture of growth.
  • Monitor team health, identify misalignments or morale issues early, and address them effectively.
  • Recruit, onboard, and build a world-class infrastructure team.
  • Define clear objectives and metrics to measure team success.
  • Guide the design of scalable and reliable systems supporting all Morpho products.
  • Establish best practices for deployments, observability, and system reliability.
  • Leverage deep blockchain knowledge to build data-intensive systems such as indexers and data warehouses.
  • Balance agility with robust security and system performance.
  • Design infrastructure with a long-term vision to scale with Morphos growth.
  • Align technical decisions with business objectives to maximize value delivery.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Crypto-native with proven experience leading Web3 infrastructure teams of 5+ engineers.
  • Track record of building and scaling backend and infrastructure systems successfully.
  • Expertise in incident management with the ability to lead effectively under pressure.
  • Advanced proficiency in TypeScript (Rust is a plus), Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • Deep understanding of blockchain technologies and EVM-based systems.
  • Experience designing sustainable and scalable infrastructure architectures.
  • Team-first mindset with humility and a collaborative approach.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Passionate with evidence such as GitHub activity, side projects, or public talks
