Job description

Location: Western Canada, Alberta/Saskatchewan


Come and join our Company’s Animal Health and dynamic sales team in Western Canada! You will be part of the Technology and Identification team, working in collaboration with Identification and Technology experts, agronomists and veterinarians, helping key partners, and producers find solutions to animal identification and trackability needs through a broad portfolio of Official and Management Identification products that cater to cattle, sheep, swine, goats, and cervids.


Reporting to the Associate Director of Sales – Farm Animal Business Unit , the Account Manager is responsible for:

  • Achieving the annual sales and business objectives within his/her territory by coordinating the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Territory Tactical Plans, ensuring alignment with Regional and National Business unit objectives.
  • Understanding customers’ needs (Dealers/Partners, Official Associations and Producers).
  • Communicating accurate and complete product information through ongoing calls to clients and end-users with the goal of increasing sales and penetrating the market in the territory.
  • Conducting customer engagement meetings, attending product and sales training, and participating in conferences and conventions.
  • Identifying networks and developing solid working relationships with key customers including key opinion leaders and community advocacy within his/her territory.
  • Completing tasks in a manner that is fully consistent with our company’s commitment and values, industry standards, and all applicable regulations and laws.
  • Optimizing business potential in the territory through effective analysis, planning, implementation, and organization of work.
  • Managing territory data through Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and/or other relevant territory management tools.
  • Completing administrative duties such as short weekly reports, expense reports, and customer requests.


The Account Manager will be supported by the Technology and Identification team in Canada comprised of the Associate Director of Sales, , other Account Managers, and an experienced Technology Solutions Support team. . The Technology and Identification team is linked to other teams across Canada and abroad.


This is a full-time position covering Western Canada primarily and and will preferably be based in the province of Alberta.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Science degree. Other types of degrees will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Sales experience in the fields of animal health or agricultural industry will be an asset. Any other experience will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Knowledge of Canada’s dairy and bovine industry will be an asset.
  • Proficiency in office technology and related software.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Self-starter with a broad range of people, business, and strategic-thinking skills.
  • Selling skills and negotiation skills will be an asset.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Language: English required, French an asset
