Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Buyer to strategically manage the procurement of machinery and tool installation services. This critical role will play a key part in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality equipment and services, directly impacting our operational efficiency and bottom line. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills, a proven track record of cost savings, and a passion for optimizing procurement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for machinery and tool installation services, encompassing market research, supplier identification, qualification, and selection.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable pricing, terms, and conditions while mitigating risk. This includes drafting and reviewing contracts, managing service level agreements (SLAs), and resolving disputes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough cost analysis, identify opportunities for cost reduction and optimization, and implement strategies to achieve cost savings targets (quantify past achievements where possible).
  • Manage the entire procurement lifecycle, from requisition to the project execution, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze market trends and forecast future demand for machinery and tool installation services to proactively manage supply and mitigate potential risks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment on procurement strategies and priorities.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on procurement performance to management.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in the field of machinery and tool installation.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a procurement role, with a demonstrable focus on capital equipment or services (machinery and tool installation experience highly preferred).
  • Proven track record of successful cost reduction and negotiation, ideally with quantifiable results (e.g., "Reduced procurement costs by 15% within the first year").
  • Strong understanding of contract law and procurement best practices.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems and procurement software.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience working with international suppliers
  • Open to travel
