A Day in the Life

As a Corporate IT Manager you will lead our IT Digital Manufacturing Shopfloor team, involved in the management and deployment of Medtronic’s next generation of manufacturing digital shopfloor technologies.

This role will also be key member of our Global Manufacturing Digital Transformation leadership team. The position is based in Colombia, operating on a remote model.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead the strategy for digital transformation, integrating manufacturing systems (MES, ERP, SCADA) with on-premise and cloud platforms to optimize production and data flow
  • Oversee cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and on-premise infrastructure (servers, networks), ensuring scalability, security, and performance to support manufacturing operations
  • Lead the implementation of cybersecurity measures, ensures compliance with industry regulations (GDPR, ISO, FDA), and manages secure data handling across both environments
  • Lead and integrate IoT sensors and automation systems, using cloud and edge computing for real-time monitoring, control, and enhanced operational efficiency on the shopfloor
  • Manage vendor relationships, cloud service agreements, and optimizes costs for both cloud and on-premise infrastructure while ensuring efficient collaboration
  • Develop training programs, leads change management initiatives, and collaborates with IT, production, and business teams to align digital solutions with manufacturing goals
  • Explore emerging technologies (AI, machine learning, robotics), contributes to long-term digital transformation planning, and ensures the shopfloor is prepared for future technological advancements


Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field with 10+ years of experience in manufacturing systems management and shopfloor integration of machines and equipment with IT infrastructure
  • Proven experience in digital transformation in manufacturing, with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for modernized, scalable solutions
  • Experience integrating IoT devices, sensors, automation systems, and edge computing for real-time data collection
  • Proficient in managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing costs
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills


Previous experience in healthcare, pharma sector and MBA or master’s in information technology is a nice to have.
