Summary:

The Business Analyst position will gather & document business and technical requirements related to enhancements, defects, and applicable projects and come up with solutions to company operations. Business Analyst (BA2) will collaborate with executives, business owners and SME’s regarding the status of projects relative to timeline and budget. 

Responsibilities:

  • Document Requirements/User Stories by interviewing business owners and SMEs.
  • Run requirement gathering meetings to understand user needs and prioritize requirements.
  • Understand the business process and communicate requirements to the development team.
  • Track and service deliverables in agile and kanban methodologies, providing weekly progress reports against the plan.
  • Communicate and manage scope with business owner.
  • Manage a project schedule.
  • Facilitate Scrum meetings and backlog prioritization
  • Assist with Quality Assurance and QA Test plan creation and be able to help with QA.
  • Become familiar with technologies utilized. Participate as a team member in activities needed to get the job done such as BA and QA activities.
  • Create and manage Jira stories, tasks and defects through completion
  • Provide support of JIRA Service Management tickets for issue resolution and/or improvement request conversion to a Jira story 
  • Utilize tools such as MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Visio, Jira, Confluence

Other Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all QMC HIPAA privacy policies and procedures. This includes always maintaining the confidentiality and security of sensitive patient information.
  • Ensures consistent adherence to company attendance policies.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in as a Business Analyst 
  • Health care experience required
  • RCM and EMS industry experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must be able to gather and document business requirements and use cases using an Agile or Kanban methodology.  
  • Ability to interact with the development team, understand the business process to ensure the project meets the business requirements.
  • Able to understand RCM business and interact business leadership
  • Strong communication skills particularly in written documentation (user stories, operating procedures, process flow mapping etc.)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skill
  • Ability to create and maintain Jira project stories, tasks and defects, and Jira Service Management tickets
  • Ability to create project presentations, organize scrums, sprint demos and backlog grooming
  • Experience with the Agile or Kanban Process for documenting requirements
  • Experience with Quality Assurance, the ability to document test cases and execute test cases
  • A thorough understanding of one or more of the following is required: JIRA, Use Cases, JIRA Stories, Software implementations, or website/eCommerce design and development, quality assurance and testing processes / identifying use cases.
  • The Business Analyst must be able to develop and manage a living project plan, identify changes in scope, and communicate impact on timeline and budget.
  • Team player that’s willing to take on new responsibilities with enthusiasm and roll up their sleeves whenever it’s needed.
