Manager of Volunteer Fundraising

Position Details: Full-time, Permanent, Vacant Position
Salary Range: $66,100 - $82,600, based on a 35-hour work week. Salary for this position will be commensurate with each individual's education and/or experience as it relates to the position.
Location: Remote/hybrid in Stonewall or Brandon, MB

What You Will Do

The Manager of Volunteer Fundraising (MVF) is responsible for actively growing DUC’s net unrestricted revenue through volunteer-led fundraising activities, and other initiatives/programs within a province or region. 

The MVF will develop and maintain strong relationships with volunteers by empowering and elevating key them to leadership positions within their respective territory; identifying and building linkages that will strengthen DUC's ability to provide excellent services that enhance its image in the community; and growing the volunteer base through recruitment.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Achieve at least $350,000 net unrestricted revenue for DUC through planning and execution of volunteer-led fundraising events and initiatives as laid out in the annual performance plan. This may include traditional DUC events, galas and events, as well as implementing new types of volunteers led fundraising initiatives. 
• Develop and support new volunteers through recruitment, onboarding and training.
• Enable and empower DUC volunteers to raise unrestricted revenue for DUC through Do-it-Yourself (DIY), Peer-to-Peer (P2P) and other fundraising events, which include but are not limited to dinners/banquets.
• Work with internal stakeholders to determine effective methods of support and communication for the volunteers and supporters.
• Work with internal business units to build a provincial business plan, ensuring that their assigned territory is operating towards identified business goals. 
• Ensure staff and volunteers are following Provincial Gaming Branch rules. Provide volunteers with updated applications, financial reporting and auditing processes.  
• Establish and maintain a network of industry contacts within the assigned territory to help facilitate net unrestricted revenue growth.
• Manage the budgeting, projecting, forecasting and analyzing of events in their assigned territory and communicating these results with volunteers.  
• Regularly conduct in-person visits, personalized phone calls, and one on one communications with existing and potential donors.
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies within their assigned territory in alignment with the DUC strategic plan.
• Follow best practices and business processes for data entry. Responsible for maintaining new and existing supporter/donor information to maximize data integrity within the DUC CRM (Salesforce)
• Produce, analyze and communicate sales, events and volunteer reports to key stakeholders (managers, and executive).

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in event management, fundraising, marketing, corporate and individual relationships and volunteer management.
• Previous volunteer work and fundraising experience with volunteer committees is required; current or previous volunteer experience with DUC would be considered an asset.
• Diploma or Certificate in Fundraising Management, Marketing, Business or related field.
• Ability to manage fundraising events such banquets, galas, etc. 
• Must be comfortable with Customer Relationship Management (CRM), peer-to-peer platforms and MS Office 365 programs
• Must be comfortable using video conference tools to manage relationships with volunteers and staff across Canada
• Ability to foster key relationships, proven success in building teams and demonstrated effectiveness in developing skills of others. 
• Proven ability to recruit, retain and mentor volunteers. 
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends and travel extensively throughout the territory.
• A valid Canadian driver’s license is required. 
• Previous experience working for a conservation or environmental organization would be considered an asset.
