Job description

Scott Credit Union is calling all customer service professionals who are interested in a full-time Mortgage Processing Supervisor job in the Collinsville, IL area to apply to join our amazing Mortgage team! This Mortgage Processing Supervisor position works Monday - Friday during normal business hours.

*This position is eligible to be a hybrid position (work from home and in the office).

The Day to Day as a Mortgage Processing Supervisor

The Mortgage Processing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations for mortgage processing team. This role provides critical leadership and operations support to ensure successful flow of mortgage loan files from application through closing. The Supervisor will act as a key backup for staff, assist in resolving operational issues, and ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and industry regulations. The Supervisor will support the optimization of team performance, improve service levels, and support the continued growth of the credit union’s mortgage services. A typical day will look like:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the mortgage associate and processing teams, ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to deadlines.
  • Provide guidance to support staff on complex loan files, resolving issues and answering questions as they arise.
  • Serve as a backup for mortgage associate and processing teams during peak times or staff absences.
  • Collaborate with the Mortgage Resource Analyst to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in mortgage operations.
  • Assist in managing the loan pipeline ensuring timely and accurate loan processing, underwriting, and closing.
  • Collaborate with the Mortgage Resource Analyst and Mortgage Operations Manager to provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to the mortgage associate and processing staff to identify training opportunities and support professional development.
  • Ensure that team members understand and comply with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promptly address and resolve escalated loan processing member service issues.
  • Ensure all mortgage files are processed in compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as within credit union policies by staying up to date on industry changes, investor mortgagee letters, and working with Risk Management when questions arise.
  • Coordinate with the Mortgage Resource Analyst and the Mortgage Operations Manager to ensure that quality control reviews are completed on files to ensure accuracy and completeness before submission for closing.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to the mortgage associate and processing teams, identifying areas for improvement and providing solutions.
  • Assist the Mortgage Operations Manager in preparing operational reports for Senior Management.
  • Assist the Mortgage Operations Manager with strategic initiatives and resource allocation.
  • In their absence, serve as a backup for the Mortgage Operations Manager.
  • Foster strong connection and communication within the mortgage team, encouraging collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to ensure alignment on priorities, processes, and goals.

To Be Considered, You’ll Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Minimum three years mortgage processing or underwriting experience.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and secondary market lending guidelines.
  • Experience with automated loan origination and underwriting systems.
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft office products. 

Preferred Qualifications That Could Set You Ahead:

  • Experience with Encompass.
  • Experience working with multiple investors.
