Job Summary:
The primary purpose of the Safety Coordinator is to minimize the risks of job-related accidents and to promote health and safety at a designated project location.
Responsibilities:
Attend safety walks, inspections, regular meetings that may be required onsite Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe equipment operation Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace Fully understand NTI and Project Owners' safety documents, management tools, guidelines, and procedures Interface with foreman and NTI employees on a daily basis to ensure safe work practices and PPE requirements are being adhered to Manage incident reporting and analysis process for unplanned events onsite Interface with local leadership and NTI Safety Director to ensure a consistent approach to safety in the field Ensure daily briefing / JHA’s are being performed onsite Oversee regular safety toolbox talk meetings Implement site specific safety plans and JHA’s for high-risk activities Perform daily visual inspections of the jobsite in addition to weekly documented site safety inspections Manage and upload all project safety documentation within project owner’s online portal Perform other project related safety duties as needed
Qualifications & Skills:
1-2 years of safety coordination experience
Bachelor's degree in health and safety or a related field may be preferred Experience with PowerPoint, Excel and auditor safety software Understanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including OSHA Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers
