Job description

Health IT Strategy & Enablement Director

Role Summary 

 

The Rare Disease Health Information Technology (HIT) Strategy Enablement Director is responsible for delivering on HIT marketing strategies and tactics in support of Pfizer’s Rare Disease portfolio. A critical success factor for the Rare Disease portfolio is the development of Digital Marketing strategies, tactics and resources to support customer harness their use of digital technology inclusive of EHRs and e-platforms.    

 The Rare Disease HIT Strategy Enablement Director will serve as the subject matter expert and be responsible for the development and implementation of digital marketing tactics, specifically for HIT across the portfolio of the Rare Disease Business Unit. The colleague will help to ensure that the broader Rare Disease team has a holistic, cohesive portfolio approach to the development of Digital/HIT strategy and is responsible for enabling the operational success of the Rare Disease HIT Account Directors.   

 This role will also support special strategic projects for the US Rare Disease Portfolio Marketing teams outside of the traditional scope of account management by compliantly lending subject matter expertise to help inform potential solutions in ad-hoc and time-sensitive business opportunities.   

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES 

This role requires excellent strategic thinking, strong project management skills, the ability to lead and work collaboratively across disciplines, the ability to translate insights into action as well as outstanding leadership and communication skills. This position reports to the Rare Disease Health IT Team Lead.  

 

  • Proactively identify innovative solutions to simplify processes and enable customer facing colleagues to deliver results.This role will gather key insights through customer-facing, industry, and internal channels to aggregate and translate into executable strategies for the HIT Account Directors.  

  • Lead operational projects and workstreams for US Rare Disease, including those related to product launch, HIT-AD execution, and resource training  

  • Provide brand teams and MG/IDN marketers with strategic insights to support the pull-through and development of resources for HIT Account Director execution  

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the Pfizer Rare Disease Customer Marketing Teams, Rare Disease Account Directors and the broader commercial community to increase understanding of appropriate HIT solutions  

  • Liaise with Brand Marketers and Franchise Leads across the US Rare Disease portfolio on opportunities for HIT-based strategies to support the business  

  • Maintain and enhance CRM platforms and business intelligence solutions used by HIT Account Directors (i.e., Valkre, dashboards)  

  • Fulfill the educational needs and opportunities for HIT colleagues to support current brand strategies and market trends using the enterprise L&D capabilities  

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders involved in the development and approval of HIT tactics including but not limited to legal, regulatory, and medical colleagues  

  • Deliver presentations to Pfizer Rare Disease cross functional stakeholders to secure endorsement for HIT tactical recommendations and to provide progress updates  

  • Develop customer facing materials to support Rare Disease HIT Account Directors and their customers consider and identify appropriate EHR solutions  

  • Prepare and lead HIT-specific presentations at Rare Disease Account Management POAs and other organizational meetings  

  • Navigate the RC-approval process to successfully produce executable tactics and resources for the HIT Account Directors  

  • Define scope and manage contractual arrangements with third party agencies to ensure project deliverables are achieved on time and within budget  

  • Support the annual operating and tactical plan development process from a Rare Disease and HIT perspective  

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) and 10+ years of experience required or MBA and 9+  

years of experience required or PhD/PharmD and 7+ years of experience required 

 

Pharmaceutical industry and or relevant agency experience preferred  

Strong understanding of HIT and EHR systems including system functionality as it  

relates to the patient journey  

 

Understanding of the Evolving Healthcare Landscape, Organized Customer  

(IDNs/Medical Groups) decision making process and the role EHR systems play in  

product adoption and use  

 

Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and partner with internal/external stakeholders  

 

Experience in managing Review Committee approval process and risk mitigation via the HIT COE  

Strong business acumen, project management, marketing execution and strategic thinking skills with demonstrated flexibility  

 

Strong verbal and written communication skills - ability to mobilize key stakeholders

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $161,600.00 to $282,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
