Job description

Job Summary:

The Energy Innovation Analyst for IGS Labs is responsible for researching and developing clean energy products that enable IGS and our customers to achieve its goal of carbon neutrality by 2040. Working closely with all leadership levels of IGS and collaborating across departments, this position supports IGS’ corporate R&D team known as “Labs.” The position will assist IGS in analyzing new opportunities and requires strong project management, strategic thinking, and excellent communications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead Research Initiatives: Oversee and coordinate comprehensive research and analysis across a spectrum of energy markets to drive informed decision-making.

  •  Strategic Development: Formulate and implement strategies to effectively engage with emerging energy markets, encompassing both wholesale and retail sectors.

  • Optimize Energy Usage: Conduct in-depth analyses of energy consumption patterns to identify load flexibility and assess eligibility for participation in wholesale markets.

  • Financial Modeling Expertise: Develop and enhance financial models that support strategic initiatives and inform investment decisions.

  • Industry Monitoring: Proactively track industry advancements and emerging trends in energy markets to identify opportunities for competitive advantage.

  • Project Management: Manage internal projects with a focus on building clear implementation roadmaps that ensure alignment and successful outcomes.

Required Skills:

  • Analytical and strategic thinker, resourceful and curious.

  • Extremely detail oriented.

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information

  • Customer Centric Focus.

  • Financial modeling and analysis.

  • Familiar with ISO, RTO, capacity auctions and market pricing.

  • Experience in renewable energy markets, wholesale energy markets and/or retail energy markets.

  • Experience with building energy consumption, meter data and energy efficiency M&V

  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Python, SQL, or others.

  • Exposure to capital markets is a bonus (not required)

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in an energy, finance or engineering related field. Or equivalent working experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in project management.

  • 3-5 years of financial analysis.

  • 3-5 years of experience in renewable energy, distributed energy resources, virtual power plants or energy trading.

Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis. Unfortunately, a current or future need for sponsorship is not supported or available for this position.

Salary Range:

$64,710.00 - $103,540.00

*This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.

This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance.
