A/B Test Software Engineer

We are looking for an A/B Test Software Engineer with approximately two to five years of experience in front-end development and A/B test implementation, preferably in a commercial environment.

As an A/B Test Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building and managing A/B tests in Visual Website Optimizer (VWO). Your role is essential in delivering seamless, high-performing web experiences that drive conversion growth.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Implementation of A/B Tests: Develop and maintain complex test scripts using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery within VWO;
• Ensuring Test Performance: Minimize page load impacts and eliminate flickering issues (FOUC) to ensure optimal UX;
• Debugging and Issue Resolution: Use browser developer tools to troubleshoot cross-browser and cross-device compatibility issues;
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a bridge between CRO specialists, designers, and developers, ensuring alignment on test execution and outcomes.

Skills and Qualifications:

• HTML5/CSS3: For precise UI/UX adjustments and developing test variants;
• JavaScript and jQuery: Advanced scripts for interactions and DOM manipulations;
• API Knowledge: Data processing and integrations using API calls;

Experience with VWO or Similar Tools:

• VWO Code Editor: Skilled in scripting and executing tests;
• Debugging: Resolving timing issues with tools like setTimeout or MutationObserver;

Performance Optimization:

• Understanding Asynchronous Loading: Managing load times for smooth UX;
• Minimizing Flickering (FOUC): Implementing variants without noticeable delays;

Testing and Debugging:

• Browser Developer Tools: Identifying and fixing errors;
• Cross-Browser and Cross-Device Testing: Ensuring consistent performance;

Tools and Access:

• VWO Account: Full access to VWO functionalities, including the code editor and live test implementation.
