IT Policy Analyst Job Description
The IT Policy Analyst is responsible for producing effective written communication for an IT Division within a federal government agency on policies, procedures, and guidelines. You will be working with our subject matter experts (SMEs) and other internal stakeholders to analyze, recommend, author, and deliver high-quality documentation such as procedures, policies, and SOPs. Responsibilities:
Develop, draft, and maintain IT-related policies to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, current organizational standards, and IT objectives.
Create strategy, through policy and other channels, to educate workforce of proposed and ongoing efforts to drive efficiency, new initiatives, standardize IT concepts, ensure compliance with federal policies, and/or revise existing standards.
Develop and/or update communication outreach SOPs, policy directives, and other related processes and procedures.
Analyze business processes to determine documentation requirements.
Gather information through research, SME interviews, source documents, and review of existing documentation.
Write various types of documentation, such as policies and operational procedures.
Manage regular reviews with SMEs to maintain accuracy and completeness of documents.
Create documents that comply with federal government customer's standards on language, writing style, structure, and format.
