Position Summary: Oversees the daily operation of the Cancer Registry and ensures compliance with all requirements to achieve and maintain an accredited cancer program as set forth by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The CTR supports preparation of annual reports, patient care evaluation studies, and calls for data as required by ACoS, NCDB, NAPBC and special reports as requested. Additionally, the CTR supports the Oncology related data needs of Tidelands Health through collection of pertinent, accurate, timely and consistent data. The CTR serves as a staff resource to the Cancer and BPL Committees. Position assignments will include a leadership role in meeting the goals of the Tidelands Health strategic plan as it relates to a regional expansion in a geographically diverse area as well as development and marketing of the Oncology Service Line.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum of one-year experience in a hospital-based cancer registry program preferred or 1-year experience in medical records setting with some NCRA course work
Education: Associates Degree or the equivalent (60 college credits).

Physical Requirements: Light-Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) rating in order to demonstrate the ability to meet the minimum physical requirements for the position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 15 to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 5 to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
