**Position Overview:**
The Administration on Disabilities (AoD) and the Administration for Community Living (ACL) are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Project Director to lead the operation of the Independent Living Training & Technical Assistance Center (IL T&TA Center). This role is pivotal in providing expert training and technical assistance (T/TA) to independent living (IL) network grantees, which include Centers for Independent Living (CILs), Statewide Independent Living Councils (SILCs), and Designated State Entities (DSEs)
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of training and technical assistance programs tailored to the needs of IL network grantees.
- Collaborate with AoD, ACL, and HHS officials to ensure alignment with the goals and regulations set forth under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in T/TA delivery and develop strategies to address these needs effectively.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with IL network members and other stakeholders to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Manage the IL T&TA Center’s budget, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines and effective resource allocation.
- Lead a team of T/TA specialists and trainers to deliver high-quality, engaging, and accessible training programs.
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of T/TA offerings and adjust approaches based on feedback and emerging needs.
- Facilitate peer-to-peer support initiatives and ensure that T/TA is responsive to grantees’ feedback and requirements.
- Develop and disseminate timely information and resources to enhance the capacity of CILs, SILCs, and DSEs in providing independent living services.
- Promote the philosophy of independent living, including consumer control, peer support, self-determination, and advocacy, across all training and technical assistance activities
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the independent living field, including operations of CILs, SILCs, or DSEs.
- Strong knowledge of independent living principles, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and current ACL regulations.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Experience in conducting needs assessments and program evaluations.
- Proficient in developing training materials and delivering training to various stakeholders.
