Sounds great – what’s the role in a nutshell?
The Sales Manager, North America is an outside sales role, working in partnership with the Director of Sales, North America and with the support of inside sales, marketing, and reservations teams. Responsibilities include managing and leading sales initiatives in key markets, assuring proper execution of company sales strategy, and providing administrative support with duties directly related to developing client relationships and achieving sales results.
Social Initiative
- Promote environmental initiatives and contribute to maintaining focus and direction in line with the efforts of the Aqua Expeditions team towards environmental conservation and social responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Director of Sales in developing and implementing an annual sales plan to drive business in new and existing markets
- Lead and manage day to day sales related activities with a focus on building long-term customer relationships
- Maintain ongoing relationship with trade partners in region of responsibility
- Monitor and manage key account production and revenue reporting
- Conduct regular product trainings and sales presentations
- Participate in sales trips, trade shows, conferences, and sales missions to maintain, build and develop key relationships
- Undergo systems and product training, including firsthand experience of product in all destinations
- Manage commission approvals, special discounts, or additional benefits
- Attend to client concerns and guest service matters
- Support Reservations team in managing new trade booking inquiries and provide assistance and approvals on special requests as needed
- Collaborate with marketing team on joint strategies, promotions, and sales incentive opportunities
- Maintain strong and close relations with Aqua Expeditions’ global sales team for cross selling activities and company-wide sales goals
- Monitor competition and be aware of their market actions, initiatives, and promotions
- Support development of FAM programs, including hosting such programs as needed
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Assist in arranging trade show and conference participation, preparation, coordination of appointments and sales visits.
- Support all post-sales initiatives with follow up activities, including but not limited to CRM activity updates, database maintenance, and sales email follow up communications
- Prepare and analyze sales reports and send quarterly and monthly reports as requested by Director of Sales, North America
- Manage and update trade database
- Learn to use and manage computer software including client relationship management platform, campaigns platform and reservations software
- Review and approve agent portal requests
- Analyze comments cards, passenger feedback and cruise director reports
- Organize and/or attend scheduled sales department, executive committee, and related meetings

As this is an independent contractor role on an exclusive consultant contract, you’ll need to be a focused, self-starter who thrives in an independent work environment. You must have a deep understanding of prospecting and developing strong relationships with customers.
