Senior Product Manager: MyGrameen Mobile Application

Product Ownership at Grameen
Grameen America is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the ongoing development of its MyGrameen Mobile App, which contains a wide variety of business- and Member-impacting features in various stages of development. Aside from core lending functionalities, over the coming years the App will grow to include elements that support the healthy management of credit files, financial information programming, tools to facilitate asset building, features that enhance the connectedness of Grameen America’s internal community of entrepreneurs, and more. A successful candidate will be comfortable navigating small, cross-functional teams towards an agreed MVP design to begin testing. They will be equally comfortable using their product management toolbox to elicit constructive feedback from Members, colleagues, partners and leadership, synthesize this quickly into requirements, prioritize the resulting work, and continuously engage in a cyclical process of ongoing improvement. Experience with mobile application development is a plus.
The portfolio of products under development at Grameen America changes over time. These and other product needs may come into or out of the portfolio of projects assigned to this position. The initiative outlined above represent Grameen’s initial project need.
In this role you will:
- Manage the short, medium, and long-term MyGrameen Mobile App development roadmap and oversee the process of assessing and prioritizing features of all sizes.
- Partner closely with the operations and engineering functions to design, pilot and roll out at least one of the new in-App business initiatives noted in the prior section, in 2025.
- Direct the App release schedule, navigating through operational and engineering constraints to deliver a new public release every 4-8 weeks.
- Engage in a discovery and learning process with Members, colleagues and leadership to proactively identify ways the App can measurably streamline processes, alleviate pain points, enhance financial controls and save time across a variety of business processes.
- Lead the design/solutions mapping for the opportunities identified in the above discovery process, shepherding them through the steps needed to turn them from ideas into workable MVP features in the App.
- Guide a third-party vendor through an agile development process to ensure MVP features are prioritized according to business value and delivered quickly and seamlessly.
- Oversee a process of continuous improvement to these MVP features, ensuring that they are continually optimized and enhance the overall maturity of the App product.
- Ensure that all learnings and findings are incorporated into future product design.
- Be a partner, champion, and support to Members through their Grameen journey.
- Have a willingness to roll projects into and out of your product portfolio over time.
You should have:
- Bachelor’s degree; 4-8 years of previous Product Management or other relevant experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to tell stories visually and with data.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Trustworthy, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and build strong relationships with Members, colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Experience planning, organizing and leading working sessions and user testing sessions with target audiences to gather feedback and requirements.
- Proven analytical skills, including an understanding of how to collect, analyze, visualize, and tell a compelling story about a given set of data, for a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in common tools used to analyze data, and an ironclad commitment to data-driven decision making.
- Grace when facing all stakeholder feedback, from very positive to deeply negative.
- A history of working with and leading small, cross-functional teams.
- Strong organization skills, detail oriented with the ability to complete work accurately and efficiently.
- Proficiency in English required. Proficiency in Spanish desired.
- Prior knowledge of agile software development practices is a plus.
- Prior knowledge of lending and/or microlending core banking MIS systems is a plus.
- Prior knowledge of microfinance principles and common practices is a plus.
