About our Internship Program

This dynamic, 4-month paid internship is designed for students interested in exploring the operational, analytical, and strategic facets of the healthcare industry. Interns will gain exposure to multiple departments, which could include Analytics, Corporate Strategy, Data Insights, Healthcare Services, Pharmacy, and Clinical Strategy. Through hands-on projects, mentorship, and networking, interns will develop skills that prepare them for careers in healthcare, consulting, and data-driven decision-making. 

You Will

As a Summer Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain experience across our organization, Potential work assignments could include projects such as:

  • Collaborating & gaining insights from cross-functional teams from Analytics, Data Insights, Corporate Strategy, Healthcare Services, and Clinical Strategy.
  • Supporting operational initiatives related to healthcare delivery, member experience, and process improvement & organization strategic initiatives.
  • Assisting with the collection, analysis, and visualization of key data sets to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Participating in strategic planning sessions and contribute to ongoing projects in healthcare services and clinical operations.
  • Conducting research and present findings on industry trends, best practices, and operational opportunities.
  • Working alongside experienced healthcare leaders and subject matter experts to develop recommendations for improving service delivery.
  • Attending mentorship sessions with senior SCAN Health Plan leaders to gain career insights and professional development guidance.
  • Engaging in intern-specific learning workshops focused on healthcare operations, analytics, and leadership development.

Your Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates who have:

  • A passion for healthcare, data, and strategic problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Business, Analytics, Public Health, Health Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
  • A proactive, results-driven attitude with a curiosity for learning new concepts

Program Details

  • Program Duration: May to September (exact dates may vary)
  • Location: Remote/hybrid, with potential opportunities to visit SCAN’s headquarters.
  • Compensation: Paid internship
