Job description

In this vital role the US immigration manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the immigration process for the company's employees and candidates. The US immigration manager will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as HR, Talent Acquisition, Legal, Payroll, Relocation, and immigration service providers, to ensure compliance with US immigration laws and regulations, as well as the company's policies and procedures. The US immigration manager will also provide advice and support to employees and managers on immigration-related matters, such as visa options, eligibility, timelines, documentation, and status updates.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Provide strong vendor management to deliver premium employee experience. This includes ensuring overall compliance in filing immigration petitions while partnering on strategic initiatives.
• Provide in-depth counsel with analysis of US immigration processes including identification of process and policy gaps, drafting of policy and process revisions and assist with the implementation of new or revised programs.
• Provide hands-on support and training opportunities to Talent Acquisition, HR colleagues and staff.
• Lead escalations between immigration counsel, staff, HR and management
• Oversee US visa sponsorship assessments in partnership with Talent Acquisition, HR and/or Hiring managers.
• Day to day program management of all US immigration files.
• In partnership with Client’s immigration counsel, help identify long term sponsorship issues and communicate risk to Talent Acquisition and Hiring Manager.
• Coordinate process of posting LCA notices for timely H-1B filings and NOF notices at sites
• Manage transitions related to M&A activity and restructurings independently and quickly lead various internal reviews or audits of immigration data, processes and policies to support the transition.
• Support external immigration counsel with audit/RFE requests from US DOL and USCIS.
• Oversee process, train internal stakeholders and assist with USCIS site visits
• Establish reporting routine to update HR and Business on immigration status for their areas of responsibility.
• Monitor changes in US immigration law and policy, analyze impact to staff population and provide updates to team and key stakeholders.
• Review / audit immigration data, processes and policies and update, as needed
• Ensure that our vendors and internal partners provide a high-quality experience to employees, managers and business stakeholders by using internal shared services and outsourced partners for transactional activity while focusing themselves on more strategic initiatives.
• Partnership and collaboration at all levels with internal stakeholders, to deliver high bar of people experience.
• Track, audit and approve immigration invoices. Prepare RBOE for following year based on spending trends and immigration fee changes.
• Conduct vendor SLA audit to ensure vendor is adhering to the contract.
• Point of contact for signing visa and green card petitions and responding to government inquiries.
• Collaborate with vendor H-1B lottery process and registration with government.
• Oversee FlexAbility requests for foreign nationals for immigration compliance
• Deliver and track Return Transportation Agreements for H-1B exits. Request reimbursement of expenses when necessary.
• Collaborate on other team initiatives and projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree
Or
Master’s degree and 2 years of Human Resources and Immigration experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Human Resources and Immigration experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 8 years of Human Resources and Immigration experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Human Resources and Immigration experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of all US visa types, processes and experience reviewing case facts to determine the best filing type
• Independent learner and desire for mastery in area of immigration
• Experience and demonstrated success in independently managing multiple activities for a large US immigration program are required
• Experience in partnering with business units and important team members to provide consultations on the most complex and high-level immigration matters to develop strategies to mitigate risk and provide timely solutions
• Leadership experience on specialized projects with strategic focus on US immigration policy, including team member education and implementation of standard company processes
• Experience in exercising independent judgment and discretion while using company policies and practices to determine appropriate action
• Experience analyzing situations and handling matters
• Experience working independently but contributing within a team environment
