Job description

Background 

Utility Profit is on a mission to improve the experience of renting homes. We make it easy for renters to see the utility options for their address and set up their water, electric, gas, and internet. We’re building a sales team and creating the future of moving. Our headquarters are in Austin, TX, and we have a distributed team of 40+ talented employees.


Role Background: 

This role will own telemarketing and outbound sales efforts. You’ll manage a team of 3 to 6 BDR representatives. You’ll drive demos by contacting the owners of property management companies. 

What's the day-to-day for this role?

  • Hire, train, and manage a small team of BDR appointment setters.

  • Both a player and a coach. You’ll be an individual contributor as well as a manager/lead. 

  • You'll call, email, and text property management companies to pitch them on Utility Profit. 

  • You will be booking product demo calls.

  • Be prepared to be making +50 calls every day.

  • Keep your CRM updated with call notes and statuses about your book of business. 

    • We are currently using Hubspot as our CRM tool.

What is the BDR team selling? 

Utility Profit partners with property managers, offering a unique 'found revenue' service to boost their earnings. Through our partnership, property managers stand to increase their profitability while enhancing their tenant’s move-in experience.

  • Revenue Sharing Model: Profit is earned by activating services, and we share a portion of that revenue directly with property managers. Property managers benefit financially from utilizing our services, creating an additional income stream for their business.

  • Operational Efficiency: Beyond the financial benefits, we alleviate the operational burden associated with utility setups. By handling these tasks, we enable property management teams to focus on their core responsibilities without being bogged down by administrative tasks.

  • No Upfront Costs: The most enticing aspect of our offering is that we do not charge property management companies for integrating our platform into their processes. We provide a valuable product to businesses at no cost to them. Instead, our service adds value by generating additional revenue and streamlining the tenant onboarding process, resulting in a win-win scenario for all parties involved.
