Job description

Human Resources Director

ABCO Maintenance is a Commercial Facility Maintenance/Construction Company that has been serving the Tri-State area 7 days a week/ 24 hours a day for over 35 years. We are actively recruiting an experienced Human Resource Director to join our team.

The Human Resources Director will be responsible for overseeing and administering all aspects of ABCO's human resources needs. This includes:

  • Developing and implementing policies and processes, aligning HR strategies with the organization's mission and goals, and the day-to-day maintenance of HR systems.
  • Plan, develop and administer human resources programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, performance management, talent management, engagement, compliance and policy development, occupational health and safety, and training and development programs

Leadership and Management

  • Hire, develop, and manage performance of the HR team
  • Work collaboratively with the team on all staffing, recruiting, and retention goals and strategies
  • Oversee and supervise the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
  • Manage new employee orientation materials and onboarding/training with all new staff
  • In conjunction with management , review and update job descriptions annually
  • Develop and implement policies, processes, training, and initiatives to support HR compliance and strategy needs
  • Manage the offboarding process of exiting employees
  • Conduct Exit Interviews and provide feedback on improvements that can be made

Performance Management

  • Manage the Annual Performance Review process including communication, training, and coaching managers and staff on goal setting and how to evaluate the annual performance of their teams
  • Identify skills gaps and work with managers on training opportunities for their teams
  • Working with management to provide guidance on developing and implementing compensation programs

Engagement

  • Ensure a positive work environment for employees
  • Create programs to promote an engaged workforce
  • Attend internal and external meetings and HR training opportunities
  • Perform any other duties as required

Benefits

  • Manage various Leaves of Absence, including approvals and communications with managers
  • Manage the Interactive Process with Managers in cases of accommodation requests/options
  • Coordinate with management on the companies' benefits programs including developing communication to staff
  • Ensure enrollment of all eligible employees (including new hires) in company's benefits plans.
  • Work with management on the open enrollment cycle
