POSITION SUMMARY: The Business System Developer works within the Product and Project Delivery (PPD) group and reports directly to the Supervisor of Project Controls Infrastructure, developing and maintaining novel Project Controls tools and technical documentation, providing software and procedure mentoring and support, and actively contributing to a spirit of continuous improvement. This position will also provide the opportunity to develop and implement innovation in Project Controls and maximize the use of the available technology and software to align with NuScale Power’s Small Modular Reactor technology cutting edge culture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with Project Controls Specialists and PPD leadership to analyze project controls processes and tools to provide recommendations based on findings to improve and streamline the business.
- Supports development of audits to provide oversight of project teams and confirm compliance with corporate and client requirements.
- Develops tools based on analysis to improve process efficiency utilizing a process of requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- Develops technical and end-user documentation for project controls as well as tools, reports, and dashboards.
- Assists in maintaining a project controls infrastructure backlog with priority and status based on business need.
- Provides support and may lead development of needs analyses, requirements, software evaluation, code, manuals and other digital products.
- May serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to other departments, including accounting, internal audit, engineering, and others.
- Provides technical advice and mentoring regarding Project Controls software capabilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
- Education: A minimum of a 4-year degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a STEM related discipline, is required. Alternatively, an additional 4 years (9 years total) of full-time, directly applicable working experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years working experience in technical project management, product management, software development, IT or technical positions is required. Additional required experience includes:
- Application of analytical skills and concepts in a business environment
- Application of SQL to find insights in business processes or otherwise
- Creation or optimization of internal tools
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills, with an emphasis on coordinating conflicting demands and priorities.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Working experience with the following technologies:
- SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Data Integrations and Pipelines
- Managing the flow of disparate data systems
- Power BI (Report Server, on premises)
- Measures and DAX
- Storytelling and visuals
- Specialized Experience (Strongly Preferred):
- Basic to Intermediate understanding of an object-oriented language
- Building and implementing technical internal tools from 0 to 1
- Exposure to Oracle ERP systems
- Basic to Intermediate understanding of an object-oriented language
- Building internal software products or tools
- Oracle ERP systems
- Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy regulation 10 CFR, Part 810.

Pay and Benefits:
The target pay range for this position is $99,175 - $119,694 annually. The full pay range is $88,915 - $139,073.
