We're Hiring a Chief Of Staff (CoS), Aligned To Support Our Head Of Data (~650 Data Org Size) Within Atlassian Corporate Engineering. The Chief Of Staff (CoS) Is a Critical Individual Contributor Role That Combines Strategic Leadership And Operational Excellence To Be a Trusted Advisor And Leader For Their Team, Requiring Either Previous Experience In a Relevant Domain Or Demonstrated Aptitude To Advise In a New Domain. Chiefs Of Staff At Atlassian Are Expected To Impact The Organization In The Following Ways:

  • Prioritization: ensures the leader(s) are focusing on the most important priorities for the day/week/month, helps create bandwidth by representing leader(s) in key meetings in their stead, keeps leaders accountable for commitments, while helping keep reports accountable for results.
  • Amplifier: amplifies the team by helping the team become more effective and being responsible for executing special projects. Examples can include investigating root causes of departmental challenges and connecting teams to solve them, drafting strategy for growth, scale, or evolution, and leading cross functional initiatives.


Responsibilities

What you'll do

  • Directing strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership and department heads.
  • Acting as a liaison with staff, executives, and senior leaders to manage and deliver project updates, proposals, and planning.
  • Supervising daily operations in collaboration with senior managers and department leaders by performing tasks such as generating correspondence, planning, and coordinating departmental activities.
  • Assisting executive team members in determining and prioritizing business strategies based on their schedules.
  • Cultivating relationships with all employees to enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations while contributing to developing new operational strategies through collaboration on special projects with executives.
  • Serving as a subject-matter expert by handling inquiries, developing action plans, and supporting the preparation and dissemination of communications.
  • Enhancing current processes and streamlining organizational procedures for improved efficiency and productivity.
  • Providing recommendations to department leaders for improving organizational teamwork through consultation services.


Qualifications

Your background

  • 12+ years of relevant professional experience in program and operational management
  • Experience turning a strategy into executable plans and driving high visibility projects
  • An analytic prowess, drive to support decisions with data, and the ability to make data digestible to varied audiences (big data, financial models, etc.)
  • Experience in diagnosing pain points for teams, moving them to good, and going the extra mile to ensure they are great


Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable and explainable compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience.

In The United States, We Have Three Geographic Pay Zones. For This Role, Our Current Base Pay Ranges For New Hires In Each Zone Are:

Zone A: $186,300 - $248,400

Zone B: $167,700 - $223,600

Zone C: $154,700- $206,200

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
