Postman is the world's leading collaboration platform for API development. Postman's features simplify each step of building an API & streamline collaboration to help create better APIs—faster. More than 35 million developers & 500,000 organizations worldwide use Postman today. After receiving Series D funding in 2021 & releasing our biggest & best version ever of Postman in September 2022, we continue to strive humbly towards our mission of 100 million connected developers & serving companies as they seek to innovate in an API-first world.

P.S: We highly recommend reading The "API-First World" graphic novel to understand the bigger picture & our vision at Postman.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a senior community strategist to build and drive our community growth, engagement and management strategies in alignment with our retention and acquisition goals. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building from 1-100, strategically phasing and experimenting and always prioritizing data and business outcomes. We’re looking for someone who is equal parts strategy and creative, can drive innovation for how we show up and engage with our community members, and can work collaboratively to build and drive a pipeline of initiatives that lead to fast and sustained growth.

About The Role

This role will be responsible for taking the seed of our existing community of developers and growing it into a hyper-engaged, collaborative, informative, transformational space that can help drive product adoption across every part of the funnel. You’ll be responsible for mapping out a crawl/walk/run approach, recommending necessary investments while working with existing constraints, collaborating cross-functionally with Content, PMM, engineering, campaigns and others, as well as creating a framework for collaboration with internal technical and support leaders. You will become the community-facing representative for Postman, establish processes and an editorial cadence for how we show up, and outline a plan for moderation and engagement. There is a lot that needs to be built and we’re looking for a sharp, fast and strategic leader who’s done it before and is ready to build again.

What You’ll Do
  • Build and drive a comprehensive community growth, engagement and management strategies that ladder up to business, campaign and org-level goals
  • Establish community programs, focused on turning our existing forum from a support function to a full-fledged community space
  • Drive fast and strategic experimentation, reporting on outcomes and scaling what works
  • Collaborate across the Content and Marketing org to deliver unique and delightful experiences to the community
  • Establish relationships with internal and external leaders to drive further content and engagement in the community space
  • Serve as the gatekeeper of the community space, providing company-wide guidance on how, when and why we show up for our community
What You Bring
  • 7+ years of experience driving community strategy (from how you grow to day-to-day management) with a proven track record of delivering results that ladder up to business goals
  • A true affinity for building relationships with your audience
  • A creative knack for the kinds of tactics and initiatives you could deploy in each phase of growth to fuel excitement and participation
  • A test, measure, iterate and scale approach to everything you do
  • A problem-solving mindset and “can do” attitude

What Else?

This is a remote role based in the United States & the reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from $160,000 to $200,000, plus a competitive equity package, and a flexible schedule working with a fun, collaborative team. Enjoy full medical coverage, unlimited PTO, and a monthly lunch stipend. (Yes, seriously. We want you to eat well wherever you’re at.) Plus, our wellness program will help you stay healthy from your location with fitness-related reimbursements. Our frequent and fascinating virtual team-building events will keep you connected, while our donation-matching program can support the causes you care about. We’re building a long-term company with an inclusive culture where everyone can be the best version of themselves, and we want you to be part of it.
