Position Overview:
The Sustainability Sales Specialist is responsible for driving sales of sustainability-focused technology and service solutions to Ag clients. This role involves working closely with customers to define regulations and voluntary opportunities that will help them achieve their business goals around sustainability. The ideal candidate will have a passion for environmental sustainability, an understanding of technologies and regulations, and the ability to build relationships with clients while driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners.
- Understand customer sustainability goals and provide a solution to reaching those goals.
- Present and promote our sustainability products, services, and technologies to potential clients.
- Negotiate and close contracts, ensuring profitability while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Market Analysis & Strategy:
- Stay up-to-date with regulations, competing technologies, and market shifts in sustainability.
- Analyze customer needs, market conditions, and competitors to develop effective sales strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing and sustainability teams to create targeted campaigns that promote our capabilities and offerings.
Customer Support & Relationship Management:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing ongoing support and guidance on sustainability regulations and opportunities in voluntary and regulatory markets.
- Address customer inquiries with the team to resolve issues, and ensure smooth implementation of solutions.
- Conduct product demos and presentations for customers to help them understand the benefits and applications of our sustainable technology.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
- Track and report on sales pipeline management, sales forecasting, and revenue generation.
- Provide feedback on customer preferences so we are providing products and service they find valuable
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the sustainability, marketing, and product teams to align efforts and ensure consistent messaging.
- Work with our Structured Contracts team to bring leads to their group.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of [5] years in sales, business development, or account management, with a focus on sustainability in the Agriculture sector.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of sustainability trends and regulations.
- Experience working in the Agriculture industry with merchandising being a strong attribute.
- Proven track record in sales and client relationship management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, from executives to technical teams.
- Ability to understand technical products and translate them into business solutions.
- Additional Skills:
- Self-motivated with a results-driven attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of sustainability reporting and metrics.

The following represents FBN's reasonable estimate of the US national average base salary range for this role based on market data and placement of internal employees: $90,000-$110,000. This salary range may vary based on geography and the higher cost of labor in some metropolitan areas.
