SUMMARY:

The Director of Clinical Outcomes is responsible for driving respiratory patient census growth by overseeing and optimizing the company's clinical outcomes programs. This includes leading initiatives that ensure respiratory therapy adherence, customer service excellence, and fostering a collaborative culture. The position provides strategic direction for departmental operations, emphasizing resource optimization, performance improvement, and the development of innovative clinical programs to achieve organizational goals. This role ensures adherence to state and federal regulations and industry standards, maintaining excellence in patient care and clinical operations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  

1. Fosters strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, and industry partners, to enhance clinical programs and support organizational growth.

2. Drives innovation in clinical operations and patient care programs to improve outcomes and operational efficiency.

3. Oversees daily activities of the department managers, holding them accountable for staffing, work assignment, production, policy adherence, and reporting. 

4. Develops, maintains, and communicates status and key performance indicators of the department.

5. Oversees the development and delivery of education and training programs tailored to healthcare professionals, the sales team, patients, and external clients, ensuring alignment with DASCO standards of care and industry best practices

6. Ensures delivery of education and training to healthcare professionals, sales team, patients and external clients on healthcare items, processes, and DASCO standards of care.

7. Assists in product clinical review, recalls, and safety notices by maintaining relationships with vendors.

8. Maintains quality of care for patients and referrals through DASCO including adherence to state, federal, and accrediting body requirements, and by leading continuous improvement initiatives. 

9. Ensures team compliance with licensure requirements and up to date with state respiratory laws, board of nursing requirements and scope of practice.

10. Enhances department and organizational standards through improvement to standard operating procedures to ensure streamlined, measurable processes and outcomes.

11. Delegates work effectively and fosters leadership development within the team, emphasizing succession planning and the growth of next-level leaders.

12. Directs department activities during outages, systems issues, staffing shortages and other operational issues and enacts contingency plans as needed.

13. Participates in company and operations meetings as requested.

14. Works cooperatively with physicians, referrals and vendors.

15. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

16. Maintains a favorable working relationship with department peers and other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.

17. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance. Takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.

18. Keeps immediate supervisor informed of opportunities for skip level interaction with staff (i.e., team meetings, celebrations, recognitions, etc.)

19. Works with department managers to determine standards of performance for department staff.

20. Sets an example of the DASCO values, encourages and expects managers, team leads and staff to do the same. Provides vision, leadership, training and coaching to all managers relative to DASCO best practices.

21. Partners with the Human Resources Manager to recommend salary adjustments, transfers, promotions and dismissals.

22. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

   

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma

2. Healthcare license (RT/RN)

3. Two years in a medical/insurance/healthcare leadership role


PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

1. Associate’s degree or higher

2. Home medical equipment experience


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSBILITY:

This position directly leads managers of the department, including hiring, development, performance management and discipline.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional or home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


The employee is generally required to sit; frequently stands, may climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include both close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


TRAVEL:

Some travel should be expected, including occasional out of town and overnight travel.
