Reporting to the Customs Compliance Manager, the US Import Specialist at Littelfuse involves classifying merchandise for HS, COO and OGA accuracy, ensuring accurate product databases, providing US import compliance guidance, conducting post-entry audits, creating reports, reviewing DPL Screenings and collaborating with various teams.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepares, reviews, and approves documentation for complex international shipments, ensuring global compliance with import regulations.
  • US Harmonized Tariff Product Classification analyzing US Harmonized Tariff Codes to conduct classification reviews according to US CFR 19.
  • Conducts product classification (HTS), valuation determinations, and country of origin assessments, and monitors denied party screening while ensuring proper record-keeping for imports
  • Conduct Post Entry Audits
  • Conducts DPL Screening
  • Provides Import Guidance
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) related to trade compliance, supports audits and suggests and tracks corrective measures
  • Updates import procedures based on regulatory changes.

Who You Are:

  • High School Diploma
  • 3-5 years of experience in Consumer Electrical and Electronics Industries
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Knowledge of US Customs rules and trade policies
  • Ability to learn and strictly adhere to the rules of US Customs
  • Proficiency in data aggregation, cleaning, and analysis
  • Curiosity about processes and the ability to ask relevant questions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey compliance concepts to other departments
  • Comfortable with change and willing to stay informed about changes in trade policy
  • Demonstrates integrity and represents the company well with external providers
  • Knowledge of FTZ and CTPAT is preferred but not required
