WHAT YOU’LL DO:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Pricing Manager, for a new role in the organization. The Pricing Manager will be responsible for implementing the Pricing function, which involves establishing pricing strategies that maximize profitability and market share for all our business units. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of market dynamics, the ability to engage with executive stakeholders, and the passion and ability to establish an impactful new function through an effective change management process.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Pricing Strategy: Formulate and implement effective pricing strategies that align with the company's financial goals and market conditions to optimize business units for success and identify opportunities for pricing adjustments and new pricing models, including the application of discounts and premiums to enhance profitability.
- Market Research Analysis: Implement and mature a standardized process to collect comprehensive market intelligence to understand competitive pricing and offerings, customer demands, business unit success, and other related market trends and dynamics.
- Governance implementation: Establish governance protocols, lead the maintenance of the pricing policy and tools, and prepare reports and updates on progress.
- Pricing Tools and Systems: Oversee the implementation, management, and maturation of pricing tools and integrate them into company software to streamline pricing processes; including updates to rate cards and other components; integration of all business units’ pricing practices in Salesforce (CRM) and Kantata (project management software); and management of the pricing portal in SharePoint.
- Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with pricing policy requirements and oversee periodic (monthly or quarterly and annual) compliance evaluations.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with multiple teams across the organization such as Sales, Communications, Finance, and Operating Groups (business units) to ensure cohesive pricing strategy implementation and onboarding and training.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of pricing strategies and initiatives.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in pricing strategy, consulting, corporate finance, revenue, or related fields, with at least 3 years in management roles.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Leadership: The ability to oversee analytical support teams and drive evidence-based strategic changes throughout the entire organization.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to wide and executive audiences.
- Stakeholder management: Ability to engage and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and cross-disciplinary teams, both internal and external, to gain support and alignment on solutions to complex challenges and difficult process changes.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans that align with business goals.
- Project and Program Management: Ability to design detailed approaches and work plans to measure progress towards and accomplish desired short- and long-term goals, transparently identifying and mitigating risks and obstacles as they are encountered.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel), pricing software, data analysis tools (such as PowerBI), and platforms used in the organization such as Salesforce, Kantata, among others.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of industry-specific pricing practices and trends, especially in the public sector (SLED / State, Local and Education) markets.
