Southwire Job Description

Job Summary

This individual will provide industrial engineering support for all Customer Service Centers. They will lead continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction projects, capital project justifications, plant efficiency determination, and work measurement. This individual will work to ensure that Lean objectives are met and exceeded.

 

Key Responsibilities


•    Retrieve data from SAP and BI via queries to analyze data and make recommendations
•    Lead cost reduction projects, analysis, and tracking
•    Develop and implement standards
•    Initiate and lead continuous improvement efforts
•    Capital request write-ups, project justification and tracking
•    Production cost rationalization, development, and analysis for existing and new products
•    Capacity and strategic production analysis and improvements
•    Improve Excel tools for conveying frequently communicated data and reports
•    Participate in continuous improvement, Lean events and Lean tool certification 
•    Maintain accurate and current training documentation for SOPs and new employee onboarding
•    Maintain Kaizen Optimizer (Lean Optima) by updating TTIs/KPIs for leadership
•    Understand SAP’s cost structure
•    Solve a range of straightforward problems analyzing solutions using standard procedures
•    Implement productivity tracking tools for process improvement in all CSC functions

 

Education, Experience, and Skills

•Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering and 3 or more years related experience required.
•Must have strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills
•Must possess strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Must have excellent software skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
•Work efficiently in a fast-paced office setting
•Must be hands-on and capable of working well with limited oversight
•Travel up to 25% required
