Lead Program Manager - Product Design & User Experience

Role Summary
You will be a strategic partner of the design leadership team to drive key business initiatives and advocate for good UX for the design organization, our partners, and external customers and users, reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Design at Splunk! You will be the sounding board for the Senior Director, as well as your DesignOps counterpart, to define ways the organization can be its best whether that means implementing new processes, planning org health events, identifying training opportunities, or deciding on a new tool to use.
What you'll get to do
  • You will enhance and lead the rhythm of business to include a cadence for forums that align the organization, leadership, and partners around our objectives and goals
  • Work to optimize interaction models between Product Management, Engineering, Design, Creative, and more, influencing cross-functionally to find opportunity, unlock productivity, and drive execution
  • Lead and manage design operations programs and initiatives, driving efficiency and effectiveness within our design organization
Must-have Qualifications
  • 10+ years of proven experience in a Design Operations role for large, multifunctional teams. Bonus if you also have experience as a practicing designer
  • Be a self-starter able to take ambiguous issues and define problem statements, identify solutions, and implement change at scale within Design and Product teams
  • Expertise in measuring impact, identifying risks, and focusing projects on priorities that accomplish outcomes
  • Understanding of the design process and design principles working in a very technical environment
  • Ability to influence change
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to manage budget and resourcing for products

  • Creating process improvement across multifaceted organizations and products
  • Orchestrating the team values and organizational health and being the eyes and ears for the Head of Design and other design leadership.
  • Managing multiple vendors and tools and be able to identify what is needed for the organization to be most effective
  • Connecting the right people at the right time to make great things happen
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and entrepreneurial spirit to start and drive programs
  • Visibility across the organization and partner organizations to be the voice of design
  • Passion for detective work to find the answer to any question or know where to find the answer
  • Innovation and continuous improvement. You enjoy finding opportunities for innovation in design processes and tools to enhance creativity and productivity.
  • Staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design operations.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $181,200.00 - 249,150.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $163,080.00 - 224,235.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $144,960.00 - 199,320.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
